Dr Ashkan Mirzay Fashami is an Associate Professor of Accounting with extensive international academic experience across Australia, China, and the Middle East. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from Griffith University (Australia), a Master of Philosophy in Accounting from Queensland University of Technology (Australia), a Master of Accountancy from the University of Wollongong (Australia), and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Staffordshire University (United Kingdom).

 

Dr Fashami is a member of CPA Australia, a Member of the Institute of Public Accountants (MIPA, AFA), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, UK). His research focuses on audit quality, audit fees, non-audit services, auditor independence, and corporate governance, with several papers presented at leading international accounting and finance conferences, including the American Accounting Association (AAA), British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), and the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ).

 

He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate accounting modules, including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Strategic Management Accounting, Auditing and Assurance, and Corporate Governance. Dr Fashami’s teaching emphasises practical application, analytical thinking, and engagement through interactive and evidence-based methods.

 

At Wenzhou Business College, Dr Fashami contributes to the development of globally minded accounting graduates by integrating professional practice, international research perspectives, and student-centred learning into his teaching.
